Justice News, Sichuan, September 20th - (Correspondent Yang Ke) Recently, the Wutongqiao District People's Procuratorate of Leshan City, Sichuan Province, has legally prosecuted the case of Yang Ruijun kidnapping a judge.

Upon investigation, it was found that in 1995, the Shizhong District People's Court of Leshan City lawfully ruled on a civil dispute case involving the removal of obstructions for demolition, with Yang Ruijun's mother as the third party. After the ruling took effect, both the plaintiff and defendant complied with the judgment according to the law. However, the suspect Yang Ruijun believed that the compliance by the parties did not meet his requirements, and thus repeatedly petitioned relevant departments. Despite multiple mediations, he remained dissatisfied. On the morning of May 11, 2010, the suspect Yang Ruijun went to the Shizhong District People's Court of Leshan City to find Lei, the judge who had handled the case at that time, demanding a solution to the issue. After reviewing the materials, victim Lei explained to Yang that the judgment had exceeded the application period for compulsory execution, and advised Yang to prepare the necessary documents to seek help at the court’s aid center. The suspect Yang Ruijun, unsatisfied with Lei's explanation, then used a concealed spring knife to take Lei hostage, making unreasonable demands such as meeting with the mayor. After more than an hour of standoff, the suspect Yang Ruijun released Lei under the persuasion of various parties. During the hostage-taking of Lei, Yang Ruijun caused a knife wound on Lei's right neck, which was appraised as a minor injury.

Yang Ruijun's actions are suspected of constituting the crime of kidnapping. After review by the Wutongqiao District People's Procuratorate, the case was legally prosecuted before the People's Court.
