Nandu News - Report by Guangjun Zhang, Correspondent Lihua Xu. A 28-year-old man met an online female friend and arranged to meet in person. When a 14-year-old girl refused his request for a romantic relationship, the man forcibly took her from Zhenlong in Huizhou to Chang'an in Dongguan, where he held her captive for seven days. The girl managed to send a text message to her family for help, and after relatives reported it to the police, she was successfully rescued. Yesterday, the police released information about the case.

The girl was dragged onto a bus and taken away

According to the police, the 28-year-old man Rao is from Guizhou and worked in Zhenlong before being arrested by the police. The illegally detained girl Li is 14 years old and attends junior high school in Huizhou. During the summer vacation this year, Li visited her uncle's house in Zhenlong. Not long after, Li suddenly disappeared without a trace. Her family searched everywhere and learned from neighbors that they had seen Li struggling with a man on the street, after which she was dragged onto a public bus and taken away. Upon hearing this, Li's relatives immediately reported it to the police.

Police searched dozens of buildings on the entire street

After receiving the report, the police judged that Li had been kidnapped and subsequently formed a special investigation team to look into it. After investigating clues such as the bus route, the police discovered that Li had been taken to Dongguan, but her exact location could not be determined. Just as the investigation seemed to hit a dead end, Li's uncle unexpectedly received a text message from Li on July 29. The content stated that she was being held in room 509 of a house in Dongguan and was unable to leave. She also mentioned that she had been beaten and threatened, adding that she sent the message secretly when her captor wasn't paying attention.

According to the police, based on this text message, they were finally able to lock down the victim Li's location at Changfu Street in Chang'an Town, Dongguan. Considering the possibility that the victim might be moved at any time, the special investigation team immediately drove to Dongguan on the same day and, with the cooperation of the local police, conducted checks on all room 509s in dozens of buildings higher than five stories on Changfu Street in Chang'an Town. After checking all night, early the next morning, the police finally found Li, who had been held captive for seven days, in room 509 of a rental building, and arrested the suspect Rao on the spot.

The man has been legally arrested

Yesterday, the police stated that the matter has been largely investigated. Rao and Li had previously met through the internet and often chatted online. During the summer vacation, Li happened to visit her uncle's house in Zhenlong, Huizhou, so the two arranged to meet. When Rao proposed a romantic relationship during their meeting, Li's refusal angered him, leading Rao to forcibly take her to a rental house in Dongguan, where he held her captive, threatening and beating her. According to the police, Rao has now been legally arrested. The case is still under further review.
