According to local news (reported by journalist Huaxing Xie, with reporting and photography by Xuanxuan Guan), a suspect who was caught stealing a car at 4 a.m. in the morning actually pulled out a gun to threaten the car owner. On May 14th, the Wan Cheng police dismantled an armed gang that specialized in stealing and robbing cars, arresting six suspects. The police seized one homemade shotgun, one imitation Type 64 pistol, two vehicles used for committing crimes, over 60,000 yuan in stolen money, as well as car decoding devices and other tools used in their crimes.

At around 4 a.m. on March 17th, Mr. Lai Jichi parked his car on the road opposite the first outpatient department of the People's Hospital. Not long after, when he returned to his car, he discovered two suspicious men inside his vehicle. Mr. Lai immediately confronted them, only to be threatened with a gun by the two men.

Subsequently, the two men fled the scene in their own vehicle. Mr. Lai was not injured, and no property was lost.

After receiving Mr. Lai's report, the Wan Cheng Public Security Bureau formed a special investigation team. They found that the method of this crime matched a series of car thefts and robberies solved earlier. Through further investigation, a major criminal gang that was active in Dongguan, Shenzhen, and other places, specializing in armed car theft and robbery, gradually came to light.

On the afternoon of May 14th, the Wan Cheng Public Security Bureau worked together with the Criminal Investigation Department of the Dongguan Municipal Public Security Bureau to launch a raid on the gang's hideout in Fuyong Village, Shenzhen. With the assistance of the Shenzhen police, they arrested six suspects. These six suspects confessed that they had committed over 100 crimes in Dongguan, Shenzhen, and other areas, and more than 30 cases have been verified so far.
