January 13, Nanchang, Jiangxi Province - News from Jiangxi Website (Reported by intern reporter Lu Ting): In order to entertain guests, on December 26 last year, Ms. Gong bought a pack of frozen dumplings at the Liantang branch of the Department Store. Unexpectedly, a small knife over 10 centimeters long was found inside the dumplings. A relevant person in charge of the dumpling manufacturer stated that all food must pass through a metal detector before leaving the factory, so it would be impossible for a knife to be inside. It is very likely that someone intentionally placed it there. Currently, the food manufacturer has already reported the incident to the public security department.

Entertaining Guests with Dumplings, Only to Find a Knife Inside

Dumplings are traditionally a popular dish used by Chinese people to entertain guests. To entertain her guests at home, on December 26 last year, Ms. Gong, a resident of Nanchang, bought some noodles and a pack of pork and leek dumplings at the Liantang branch of the Department Store. Upon returning home and preparing to cook them, she unexpectedly discovered a small knife over 10 centimeters long inside the packaging, and the knife was also rusted.

Customer: Public Announcement to Alert the Masses

Upon seeing a knife inside the packaging, Ms. Gong immediately called the dumpling manufacturer. "Around the end of December, a female salesperson came to my house and said they would compensate me with a box of dumplings or additionally a box of glutinous rice balls," but Ms. Gong did not agree at the time, believing that this issue could not be resolved simply by compensating with a box of dumplings or glutinous rice balls. The manager of the food factory also told Ms. Gong on the phone that it might have been accidentally packed by a part-time worker during packaging, but the dumplings themselves were fine.

Manufacturer: Hopes for Mutual Agreement and Reasonable Resolution

The reporter from Jiangxi Website immediately contacted Zhang Xiaoyan, a relevant person in charge of the food company. Zhang Xiaoyan told the reporter that they had already been in contact with Ms. Gong and agreed to provide corresponding compensation. However, they felt that the demand for a thousand yuan in compensation from Ms. Gong was unreasonable and hoped to reasonably resolve the matter through negotiation with Ms. Gong. Zhang Xiaoyan also stated, "All our food must pass through a metal detector before leaving the factory; it would be impossible for a knife to be inside. It is very likely that someone intentionally placed it there." Currently, we have already reported the case to the police.
