According to our news report, at around 3 PM yesterday afternoon, a black BMW 5 Series was "quarreling" with a taxi on Yunnan Road in Nanjing. The two cars were driving from north to south and neither would give way. As one tried to move forward, the other wouldn't allow it, and thus they "chased" each other all the way to the intersection of Beijing West Road. The taxi driver suddenly turned the wheel sharply, forcing the BMW to stop at the intersection.
After getting out of the car, the taxi driver immediately called the police, claiming that the BMW driver had the smell of alcohol on him and might be driving under the influence. The traffic police arrived quickly and after testing with an alcohol detector, they found the man's blood alcohol content was 97.5mg/100ml, which exceeds the drunk driving standard of 80mg/100ml. At around 6 PM last night, when the reporter arrived at the traffic police station, the man was being questioned and he was writing something on a piece of letter paper with a pen. "Never again," the reporter noticed that this "fan" should be "fan" (mistake), and these short four words revealed the man's regret and tension.
The traffic police told the reporter that after their investigation, they learned that the man had lunch with friends around 1 PM at Hunan Road and drank several bottles of beer. Due to the driver's suspected drunk driving, according to penalty regulations, the traffic police station is currently processing relevant procedures. (Guo Yipeng)
