Yesterday, a black car covered with "missing person notices" and photos appeared near Huayang Hualong Bridge. A man in his sixties got out of the car and told the citizens that he was looking for his 25-year-old wife who had been missing for over a month.

Searching for his wife within the province for over a month

At around 5 PM, this "wife-seeking car" was parked near the Hualong Bridge. Two women and a bespectacled man got out of the car, holding a stack of missing person notices, heading to nearby neighborhoods and roads to post them. "Did she get lost, or did she leave on her own?" At this moment, more than a dozen citizens gathered around to look at the notice posted on the car. Seeing passersby asking questions, another man in his sixties got out of the car. He was wearing a white shirt and dark trousers. The elderly man introduced himself as a traditional Chinese medicine research doctor named Xiao Jiahui, who had previously run a TCM research institute and pharmacy in Shuangliu County. Before losing his wife, he was writing a book titled "Treatment Methods for 116 Types of Difficult and Miscellaneous Diseases." Grandpa Xiao carried a fashionable white shoulder bag filled with thick stacks of printed "missing person notices." Looking listless, he adjusted his loose reading glasses and rubbed his head while saying: "I've been searching for over a month. Besides Chengdu and its surrounding areas, I've also visited more than ten counties and cities within the province. Recently, I've been too tired, often experiencing dizziness and headaches." Grandpa Xiao seemed to have just undergone eye surgery, with two unremoved sutures still visible under his lower eyelids.

25-Year-Old Wife Missing Last Month

Grandpa Xiao explained that on July 11th, his 25-year-old wife Zhu Kunxiu, whom he had been married to for five years, went missing. Consequently, he closed his pharmacy and, accompanied by two workers, set out to search for his wife's whereabouts, but no news has come yet. "Every place we reach, we rent a car to search for people, spending tens of thousands of yuan so far," said Grandpa Xiao. He didn't mind how others viewed their age difference, because he believed they genuinely loved each other and thus got married. Grandpa Xiao urgently hoped to find his wife, stating that in his heart, she was a very gentle and considerate person, and he deeply loved her. He would continue searching.

Grandpa Xiao introduced that he and his wife Zhu Kunxiu were from Liangshan and were fellow townspeople. Five years ago, through family introductions, Zhu Kunxiu came to Shuangliu County to take care of him who lived alone. Subsequently, the two developed feelings for each other and got married. After marriage, they lived harmoniously. He devoted himself to researching traditional Chinese medicine and writing books, while his wife took care of the household and managed domestic affairs. The old man said that originally, he led a leisurely life of writing books and planting flowers, but later became busier. At this point, Zhu Kunxiu began to show resistance, leading to differences between the two. "She once threatened to run away from home, and now it's really happened," Grandpa Xiao sighed repeatedly when mentioning past events.

Elderly Man Offers Reward to Find His Wife

Regarding the reasons for his wife's disappearance, Grandpa Xiao speculated there could be two possibilities: the first possibility is that after driving home, his wife was kidnapped after parking her car, but Grandpa Xiao hasn't received any ransom calls so far. The second possibility is that his wife was instigated or persuaded by someone else, causing a rift in their relationship, leading her to run away from home. Currently, Grandpa Xiao is actively trying to contact his wife's good friend Luo, but still has no news.

In the missing person notice, Grandpa Xiao made a commitment: "If you help find Mrs. Zhu Kunxiu according to your arrangements, I will certainly reward you with 20,000 yuan face-to-face, without breaking my promise." During the ten minutes the "wife-seeking car" stopped, four or five citizens came forward to inquire about the situation. The exhausted Grandpa Xiao introduced and explained everything to them one by one, repeatedly stating that he was willing to offer a substantial reward to those providing information. Afterwards, when the worker who posted the notices returned, the four of them sat back in the car and drove to the next destination to continue searching for Grandpa Xiao's wife. Reporter Teng Yang
