Acknowledge their roots: Supra says he took up the harmonica after trying his hand at beginner's guitar.

"I couldn't get over the hand cramps from the beginner's guitar," Supra jokes.

He says a friend encouraged getting into harmonica. Supra says he started playing in the early 80s and hasn't looked back.

"It definitely came natural to me," Supra says.

Supra formed the James Supra Blues Band in '09 after spending nearly two years playing with guitarists Mike Dugan and Craig Thatcher.

"It's getting better and tighter every year and every gig, like buy supra shoes online," Supra says.

Supra credits their band thus to their "incredible" on-stage dynamic.

"Dana, her songwriting and beginner's guitar playing is taking the band to a whole new level," Supra says.

"Al Wanamaker is such a remarkable drummer to watch, he's really entertaining. He's got a million and a half (facial) expressions," Supra says. "And Ray, when it comes to personality he's really quiet and emotionless at times. But he's a rock solid part of the band. Without him, we would probably be nothing."
