Hello everyone, today Shanghai SEO (SWJ) will have a casual chat with everyone about Baidu's establishment of a branch in Japan. Why does the company known as "the largest Chinese search engine" go to develop the Japanese foreign market?
On January 23, 2008, Baidu, China's largest search engine company, officially launched in Japan. They chose the date well - 123. Could it be that they want to become Japan's HAO123? (*^__^*)
Everyone knows that Baidu only focuses on Chinese search engines and rarely indexes English web pages. But why is it stepping out of China to develop the neighboring Japanese market?
SWJ personally believes there might be the following reasons:
1. Sino-Japanese relations are improving day by day. Premier Wen Jiabao visited Japan, and Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda also visited China not long ago. This shows that the relationship between China and Japan is becoming closer. It also indicates one thing: for Chinese businessmen, "Japan's market is continuously expanding."
2. Looking at the global market, Baidu's direct competitor Google follows a globalization strategy, while Baidu currently focuses mainly on China. Many webmasters say that Google can't compete with Baidu, which is the "local bully" in China, hard even for a strong dragon to fight against. However, SWJ personally believes that Google and Baidu have different strategic visions. Google looks at the world, while Baidu mainly focuses on China.
3. Baidu's CEO, Mr. Robin Li, has visited Japan several times and written related articles on his own blog. It seems that Baidu wasn't unwilling to "do it," but the timing wasn't right before. Now that the timing is relatively ripe, they officially launched in Japan to further strengthen Sino-Japanese cooperation. Japan is also a technological powerhouse and a kind of "treasure land." From a personal perspective, SWJ pays more attention to SEO and UFOs in Japan.(*^__^*)!
Mr. Robin Li's personal blog: http://hi.baidu.com/liyanhong. Those who are interested can take a look. SWJ often visits and supports Baidu Space!
That's all for now. I've mentioned three points that I personally think are relevant. Just casually sharing my thoughts, not some profound or high-level discussion. I write whatever comes to mind. I am SWJ, walking my own path, letting others talk!
Recently, after Baidu launched in Japan, users in China basically couldn't log in. Was it because the Chinese authorities blocked the IP? SWJ pinged it on the 23rd and it was reachable, but I couldn't access it. Later, a friend told me that I needed a proxy to access it, you fool. Today, I met Xiao Jiao (not rubber, and I'm not Hok Nam(∩_∩)!), the webmaster of SEO Academy. He also told me that a proxy was needed to access it. Apart from the possible factor of being blocked by the Chinese authorities, if it wasn't that, why would Baidu block the IPs of our countrymen? Could it be that they want BAIDU.JP to be more "localized"?...
