A bottle of yellow wine on the table, Han Qunfeng picked it up and drank several big gulps, then she took out the sleeping pills, fed them to her two sons, and let each child drink a sip of the yellow wine.
This was the first time the two children had alcohol, and also the last time.
An hour later, Han Qunfeng first picked up one of her sons and placed him in the bathtub, pressing his head under the water. The son struggled fiercely, Han Qunfeng didn't know how many times she pressed down, until there was no more sound from the water surface. Then she fished the child out, changed him into a beautiful new pajama, and then picked up the other son and submerged him in the water...
Han Qunfeng still remembered, 13 years ago, the joy of the whole family when she first conceived this pair of twins; she also remembered, the initial shock when she first heard that her sons had cerebral palsy due to premature birth.
In the past 13 years, she devoted all her efforts to take meticulous care of the two children. 13 years later, she killed them with her own hands... Originally, Han Qunfeng swallowed a large amount of poison herself, determined to die, but fate played tricks, she survived after being rescued by the hospital.
Facing her husband, she has cried all her tears; facing the law, will be a trial for capital punishment.
Recently, the procuratorial organs have brought a public prosecution against the defendant Han Qunfeng on suspicion of intentional homicide. It is understood that the First People's Court of Dongguan City will soon publicly try this special murderer.
Life and death apart
The two sons were ice cold, while Han Qunfeng still had body temperature
At 8:00 am on November 21, 2010, Huang Sheng (a pseudonym) felt something was not right when he got up. At this time, his wife and two sons were still not up. He walked to the room where mother and son slept, knocked on the door, and no one answered. A strong smell of pesticide made Huang Sheng feel alarmed.
He forced the door open, and the first thing he saw was a pile of vomit on the ground. He quickly walked to the bed, found the three covered with blankets lying on the bed, calling and pushing did not get any response. Huang Sheng immediately called the emergency number and reported to the police. At this point, the two sons were ice cold, while his wife Han Qunfeng still had body temperature.
After the doctor arrived, they sent Han Qunfeng to the ambulance, but told Huang Sheng that his two sons had already died.
The sudden tragedy left Huang Sheng at a loss, and also filled with regret.
At 8:00 pm the night before the incident, Huang Sheng gave his two sons with cerebral palsy a bath, then went to play mahjong with friends. Before returning home, he even received a text message from his wife, saying the children were fine, she would sleep with them, and not to disturb upon return. When he returned home in the middle of the night, Huang Sheng was puzzled by the strange smell in the house, but did not think much about it. Unbeknownst to him, when he woke up, the family was already separated by life and death.
According to the police investigation, the two 13-year-old children were drowned by someone, and their mother Han Qunfeng attempted suicide but failed.
That evening, Han Qunfeng was revived after being treated in the hospital, and she cried as she recounted the process of killing her children.
Dedicated all
Female manager resigns to take care of brain-damaged children, eventually desperate and decides to leave
The 37-year-old Han Qunfeng, from a certain town in Dongguan City, was previously a hall manager at a bank, and her husband Huang Sheng also had a decent job. This should have been a well-off happy family.
In 1996, the two freely fell in love and got married, and two years later, they had a pair of twins. Due to premature birth, the two children were only saved after a month of intensive care. Initially, the children were good-looking and adorable, but later it was discovered that their walking and speech were abnormal. In 2000, the couple took the children to the provincial children's hospital for a thorough examination, and the result almost shattered the couple. The doctor said that the two children had cerebral palsy due to lack of oxygen during premature birth, resulting in abnormal brain development, and would be unable to take care of themselves. Moreover, if treatment was not timely or care was insufficient, it could easily lead to muscle atrophy, or even early death.
In addition to the pain, the couple immediately spent a huge sum of money treating the children. Later, they heard that there was a masseur in Shijie Town, Dongguan City, who could provide physical therapy for sick children, so the couple worked hard day and night, taking the children for massage treatment. For many years, the monthly expenses were over ten thousand yuan, and the couple lived frugally, carefully taking care of the two children. Later, in order to better take care of the children, the couple rented a small house in Shijie Town, and specifically hired two nannies for care.
Day after day, year after year, the couple exhausted all their efforts on the children, but the two children were still unable to take care of themselves. Their IQ was like that of a two or three-year-old child, sometimes crying loudly every dozen minutes, so that later no nanny was willing to take care of them.
In 2009, Han Qunfeng decided to quit her job and take care of her sons herself. This caused arguments at home. Originally, the benefits and salary at the bank were relatively high, and after resignation, all the expenses of the family fell on her husband Huang Sheng. Although the two children were well taken care of, the family's life became increasingly difficult. Han Qunfeng's social circle became narrower and narrower, her temper became more and more irritable, and sometimes she couldn't help but beat and scold the children.
Han Qunfeng said that finally, they couldn't afford the rent, so she brought the two sons back home from Shijie Town, basically taking care of them alone at home. Every day, watching her sons needing support to walk, unable to control their bowel movements, she felt sadder and began to feel desperate, often thinking that if one day something happened to her, what would happen to these two sons, and then they would drag down her husband and family. Two days before the incident, she suddenly had the idea of killing her two sons and then committing suicide by taking medicine.
Die together
Han Qunfeng, who was revived, said she now feels worse than dead
Han Qunfeng began to implement a detailed plan.
She knew that her neighbor Aunt Qiao often had trouble sleeping and was taking sleeping pills, so she lied that she was also having trouble sleeping and asked her neighbor for sleeping pills. Since the doctor wouldn't prescribe too many, the neighbor only gave her a dozen sleeping pills.
Han Qunfeng then went to buy poison. By the night of the incident, Han Qunfeng had already made all the preparations. Sleeping pills, rat poison, pesticides, will, new pajamas, and yellow wine... Normally, Han Qunfeng would get dizzy after just one glass of beer, but to build courage, she drank a lot of yellow wine herself first, then implemented the plan. To avoid her husband discovering anything wrong when he came home, she poured the poison into a cup, threw away the original bottles and packaging, and deliberately sent a text message to her husband saying "don't disturb my sleep".
Han Qunfeng said that she didn't want her two children to suffer, so she thought of drowning them after they fell asleep, making the process of liberation as peaceful as possible for the children. Therefore, the poison was all for herself, but she never expected that after swallowing all the poison, she vomited once in a daze and didn't die. "I really didn't want to kill them, I haven't given up treatment for 13 years, this time I just wanted to give my two sons and family a release, so I cruelly killed them, I didn't expect to be revived, now I feel worse than dead."
Crime involving murder
Many neighbors pleaded for her, the court indicated cautious handling
After the news of Han Qunfeng killing her children broke, it spread quickly, and many neighbors learned of it and pleaded for her. Some neighbors believed that Han Qunfeng's two children had muscle atrophy and were unable to take care of themselves, and were likely to die prematurely, so what Han Qunfeng did for her children was euthanasia.
Legal experts believe that so-called euthanasia usually refers to relieving incurable patients nearing death of their suffering, at the patient's request, allowing them to die painlessly. Euthanasia is divided into passive and active euthanasia. Passive euthanasia refers to, with the consent of a dying patient, not taking medical measures (including removing artificial life-sustaining devices), letting them die peacefully. Such behavior does not constitute intentional homicide. However, performing active euthanasia should be considered as intentional homicide.
Legal experts believe that children with cerebral palsy are not people nearing death, their right to life is the same as normal people, and no one has the right to deprive them of it. Even with the victim's consent, such acts of killing are an infringement on others' lives, and the law does not allow anyone to privately execute others for any reason. The case of Han Qunfeng belongs to a human tragedy, this pitiful mother meticulously cared for the sick children for 13 years, and finally out of despair, took the extreme path. This situation should be fully considered by the court during sentencing.
I called the First People's Court of Dongguan City yesterday regarding this case, and relevant responsible persons indicated that the case of Han Qunfeng has recently been prosecuted by the procuratorate, the court has paid attention, and decided to handle it cautiously. Currently, the case is in the review and filing stage, and if everything goes well, it will be publicly tried in court soon.
