[Repost] Recommendations for a few well-developed ASP.NET BBS forum systems today!
**DXBBS Hero Forum** - http://www.dxbbs.com/
DXBBS Hero Forum was developed by an enthusiastic individual in 2003 as a BBS system. DXBBS was one of the pioneers to research .NET development technology and was the first to develop a BBS system using .NET technology in China. To date, more than ten versions have been released. The latest version is DXBBS V8.1, which is originally developed using the latest ASP.NET 2.0 C# technology. Its core program is highly integrated, utilizing high-speed data retrieval technology and a unique caching mechanism, making the system extremely fast. All parameters are strictly filtered, and cookies are specially encrypted, ensuring a high level of security. For large forums with massive amounts of data, the system automatically creates new data tables based on post volume to prevent excessive single-table data from causing database pressure.
This system runs very fast, is easy to install, compact, convenient, and feature-rich! It uses an XML user table configuration method, enabling seamless integration with any other system! Although it is not open-source, I've seen the code, and it's written very well and clearly! If you want to learn .NET, I recommend taking a look at this.
**Discuz! NT** - http://nt.discuz.net/
The first version was released in 2006.
Although Discuz! NT is open-source, it has little educational value for learning purposes. Discuz itself focuses primarily on branding. After carefully studying the NET version of Discuz's BBS, it can be said that there is no real architecture to speak of. Features are like meat, while architecture is like bones. As programmers, the most important thing is the skeleton, and implementing features is a basic skill. Architecture is the primary soul of a product.
Installation might be challenging for the average person! There are many features, but many of them lack practical significance.
**CVBBS Very Forum** - http://www.cvbbs.cn/
CVBBS Very Forum first appeared in 2005. The main highlight of this forum lies in its diverse styles, as CVBBS's predecessor was a forum beautification service site! It has now been renamed "Cn.Very.Community" (shortened to "CVC").
The latest version of CVC is the CVC 1.0 beta version. Although there are technical innovations, it still lags far behind the others mentioned above in terms of functionality. The features are average, and installation is relatively complex.
**Dongwang.NET Forum** - http://n.dvbbs.net/
This system also released its first version in 2006.
Through commercial channels, they obtained the commercial operation and secondary development authorization for CVBBS source code. However, there are still many bugs. If you choose this, you might as well directly select CVBBS instead, so you don't become a guinea pig.
These four .NET BBS systems are among the most famous ones today! When choosing which one to use, it depends on your specific needs. If my recommendations aren't ideal, please don't throw too many stones!
