Devotion is a kind of life attitude. Tencent College forwarded some growth insights from graduates to their colleagues, and I am glad to see the vigorous growth vitality of my colleagues. It reminds me of the time when I just graduated more than ten years ago. Let me share with you here.
In the mid-1990s, the Internet was not yet popular. My first job was at a systems integrator, where I worked in different positions such as software development, network engineering, after-sales service, and pre-sales solutions. I have experienced the joy of many successful projects, but also the painful lessons of many failed projects.
But when I look back more than ten years later, what I remember most is the personal dedication and the arduous struggle with the team. These experiences have gradually integrated into my life attitude. Passion for your career, love what you do.
When Tony graduated, the employment situation was still quite relaxed. Most of my classmates chose to work as government civil servants or in large state-owned enterprises like China Telecom or state-owned banks. I chose a private company in the integration industry.
The work in the integration industry is very hard, with high pressure. Occasionally, when I met with other classmates, I saw their more relaxed and carefree lives, and I envied them a little. But because of my passion for software technology, no matter how hard it was, I didn't feel bitter. Many painful exploration processes were actually enjoyable.
Tencent is an Internet company with a service nature, and our colleagues have many opportunities to get close to a large number of users. A small action we take in products, technology, or marketing can affect hundreds of millions of people. If we can use our intelligence to meet user needs and bring happiness to users, then the happiness of hundreds of millions of users gathered together becomes an ocean of happiness, and ultimately we will also have a great sense of satisfaction and happiness.
If you are passionate about Chinese netizens and eager to bring happiness to them, then Tencent may be a suitable platform for your development. In our jobs, sharing the joys and concerns of users is the attitude of Internet practitioners.
Every position has something to learn, and there are excellent colleagues worth learning from, worth devoting ourselves to experience. No matter how our future careers develop, this process of full commitment is meaningful accumulation.
Some friends are very impatient. For a position, a company, an industry, they give up easily when encountering difficulties. They haven't even grasped the essence before they rush to change positions, companies, or industries. A master artist once said, "Without mastering one art, don't talk about art." Tony personally suggests that young friends can be more patient, try to discover the beauty of work with full devotion, and try to experience the joy of work itself.
When we endure great pressure, go through countless crises and difficulties, and finally find a feasible solution after relentless efforts, the feeling of sudden enlightenment is indescribable. This feeling is incomprehensible to those who have not experienced extreme challenges, and only those who are fully devoted can feel the joy of work.

I have always admired a saying from Huawei: "Celebrate victory with a toast, save each other in defeat." In work, being able to meet a group of like-minded colleagues, trusting and appreciating each other's passion, fighting together, and creating value is a happy thing.
Each of us yearns to win the respect and trust of the team. How can we achieve this? Some friends are very capable individually, but they are more like lone rangers and are not liked by team members. Why?
Whether a person is an absolute expert or extremely intelligent is not the most important thing. The most important thing is whether you are passionate about the team. Whether you have learned to appreciate the efforts of team members, whether you are willing to help others succeed constructively, only those who are passionate about the team can win the respect of the team.
Positive professional ethics
After entering society, we are professionals. In the workplace, we encounter various problems and temptations of interest. The first job, the first team you participate in, is very important for young people. The professional attitude of team members, the atmosphere of the team, and the influence of their words and deeds have a great impact on the formation of personal professional attitudes.
I deeply thank the team I joined when I graduated, and I am grateful to the colleagues who once guided me and helped me. Besides the growth of technical skills and meeting many excellent colleagues, what I am most grateful for is that during that period, their enthusiasm for the cause and their selfless attitude helped me establish a rigorous professional ethics consciousness.
Many years later, looking back on my career path, although I have made various mistakes in projects, products, technology, and management, I can proudly say that in the most important aspect of professional attitude, I have no regrets. In the face of various temptations, I have never violated laws and professional ethics, and I have never engaged in selfish behavior that harms the public interest. For the cause pursued by the team, regardless of success or failure, I have been fully devoted in the fields I participated in.

This is a valuable view that will benefit us throughout our lives, no matter which industry or company we work for in the future.
Positive attitude towards all kinds of enterprise problems
China's Internet industry is very young, and Tencent is a young enterprise that is only 10 years old and growing rapidly. Many aspects and mechanisms of the company lag behind the speed of enterprise development, and there are various unreasonable or unoptimized issues in many places.
Facing various problems in a big family, criticizing coldly with an indifferent critic's identity does not help improve the situation or assist other members. As a member of Tencent's big family, we need to adopt a positive attitude. For the problems we discover, we should carefully think about them and kindly propose constructive suggestions to help our family members optimize and improve better.
A family having various problems is not scary. If every family member can be fully devoted, feel and appreciate the efforts of other family members, and members can help and understand each other, then this big family has hope, and difficult problems can surely find solutions.
Balancing work and life well
Don't become a work machine. Only those who can enjoy the happiness of life can feel the joy of work. And only happy people can better create happiness for users. No matter how much work pressure there is or how busy work is, I hope our young colleagues can learn to balance and manage the relationship between work and life well.
