On the evening of January 8th, local time, a massive unidentified flying object (UFO) reportedly appeared in the sky over Stephenville, Texas, USA. It was said to be over 1600 meters long and about 805 meters wide, traveling at an astonishing speed of 4828 kilometers per hour, far exceeding the capabilities of any current human-made aircraft. Multiple local residents, including a pilot and a police officer, claimed to have witnessed this phenomenon. It was also reported that two military aircraft ascended into the sky to track the UFO. However, the U.S. military categorically denied sending F-16 fighters to chase the UFO, suggesting that what the residents saw might have been the glow from two planes flying overhead.
**Witnessing the Enormous UFO**
At around 6:15 PM on January 8th, local time, residents of Selden, Stephenville, Texas—Stephen Allen, Mike Oden, Lance Jones, and others—were out for a walk when they were astonished to see an inexplicable, enormous UFO hovering more than 1000 meters high in the sky.
Allen, who is a freight company owner as well as a private airplane pilot with 30 years of experience, has professional precision in judging the speed and distance of flying objects. He observed that this "unidentified flying object" emitted bright, flashing white light, spanning approximately 1600 meters long and 805 meters wide, moving rapidly at a speed of 4828 kilometers per hour. This rare spectacle left Allen and his companions utterly amazed.
**What Was It?**
Due to its incredible speed, they couldn't make out exactly what it was. Allen said, "We were all shocked; we didn't know what it was. I thought to myself, 'Good heavens, what is this thing? Is the end of the world coming?!'"
Allen stated that the light they saw was definitely not from a regular plane, nor was it the flash of a camera. The light kept changing shape, shifting from a horizontal line of light to two vertical lines. Allen remarked, "Two seconds later, it disappeared completely."
**Chasing in the Sky**
Just as Allen and his friends were dumbfounded by what they had seen, about ten minutes later, the mysterious flying object reappeared in the sky, accompanied by two U.S. military fighter jets that were tracking it.
Another witness, Mike Oden, said, "It was an extraordinary experience, something I can't explain. It was absolutely not some natural phenomenon because it moved too fast."
Witness Lance Jones commented, "It was incredibly agile; I've never seen anything like it before. But I wasn't scared because I guessed it might be something developed by the military."
**Sighting the Mysterious Flying Object**
Besides Allen and his friends, dozens of other residents of Stephenville also claimed to have personally witnessed this mysterious UFO, including a county police officer and a business owner.
According to another witness, local mechanic Ricky Solis, when he told his friends that he had seen a large, flat metallic flying object above the pasture behind his house, they joked about it, thinking he might be hallucinating. Solis said, "I only felt relieved when I read reports from others in the newspaper, which meant I wasn't going crazy."
Solis mentioned that he had seen this UFO several times already. Once, he observed it through the telescopic lens of his rifle and found that it was exceptionally large with no seams, screws, or bolts on its metallic body.
**Military Denial of Fighter Jet Tracking**
Despite local residents' adamant claims that this UFO was much larger, quieter, faster, and flew lower than any known aircraft on Earth, U.S. federal officials insisted that there must be a "logical explanation" for the mysterious light.
The U.S. military also denied sending F-16 fighters to track the UFO. A spokesperson for the 301st Fighter Wing at the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth, Major Carl Lewis, stated that no F-16 fighters or other aircraft were dispatched from his military base on the evening of January 8th. Lewis explained that the mysterious light might have been caused by two commercial airplanes, noting that during sunset, the light emitted from airplanes can appear unusually bright. Lewis said, "I'm 90% sure it was just an airplane, and the angle of the sunset created an illusion."
Officials from two other nearby air force bases also confirmed that no aircraft were sent out on patrol that night.
**Civilian Reward for Photos**
However, the local witnesses refused to believe the military's explanation. Someone has already offered a reward for anyone who can provide photos or videos of the UFO taken on the night of the incident. One of the witnesses, Lee Roy Ketan, a police officer in Erath County, Texas, said, "Even with binoculars, I couldn't clearly see the object emitting the light. I'm not saying I saw a flying saucer, but I don't know what it was. I can be certain, though, that it wasn't a plane—I've never seen anything like it before. I guess it might be some new military invention, at least I hope so."
