This immediately drew attention from all sides. It is predicted that Wang Gongquan's elopement target is Wang Qin, who has work-related connections and is the founder of Jiangsu Zhongfu Investment. CDH Investments' portfolio includes companies such as Qihoo 360, Jingjinjie, etc.
"Always whispering springtime desires to the wind, most hate worldly fame and success. Who sees gold and silver piled up for generations? Through the ages, only one thing is truly valued - emotion! Disdainful of wealth, glory fleeting as soil, I smile and bid farewell to the mundane world," this was the original lyrics of "The Song of Elopement" posted by Wang Gongquan on his Sina Weibo at midnight on May 15th.
Almost 24 hours later, the 50-year-old Wang Gongquan eloped as described in the lyrics.
"Dear friends and colleagues, I have abandoned everything and eloped with Wang Qin. Thank you all for your care and assistance over the years, wishing everyone happiness! Unable to face everyone's expectations and trust, unable to explain myself, and without the heart to do so, I have left without saying goodbye. Please forgive me! Wang Gongquan bows deeply," Wang Gongquan wrote on Weibo at 23:21 last night.
The public announcement of the elopement immediately drew attention from all sides. So, who is Wang Qin? Numerous netizens on Weibo, after searching and analyzing, pointed the finger at Wang Qin (@Please Cultivate Love), the founder of Jiangsu Zhongfu Investment Co., Ltd.
The evidence includes Wang Gongquan commenting on a photo posted by Wang Qin on March 4th: "Ha! Chairman Wang Qin, you look like a butterfly about to take flight in this photo." In a voice Weibo post made by Wang Gongquan on the night of February 18th, he sang, "Even if it's hard to meet across vast distances, we share the same heart under the bright moon," to which Wang Qin responded, "Not bad."
"Once you truly encounter the person you admire, of course, you must keep this person by your side forever. Love is a necessary process, but the person who will accompany you for life is the key," Wang Qin said on Weibo on May 10th.
Data shows that Wang Gongquan was born in 1961 and once served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Wonton Industrial Group. In 2005, Wang Gongquan founded CDH Venture Capital, subsequently participating in investments in Minsheng Bank, AsiaInfo Group, eBay China, 3721, Finance.com, Zhan, Jiangxi Seri, Qihoo 360, and other enterprises. CDH currently manages $3.5 billion in international funds and 4 billion RMB in funds.
Wang Qin was born in 1977 in Sanmen, Zhejiang Province, and currently serves as the Vice President of the China Association of Small and Medium Enterprises and Chairman of Jiangsu Zhongfu Investment Co., Ltd. Public recruitment information indicates that Jiangsu Zhongfu Investment Co., Ltd. was established in May 2004, responsible for CDH Investments' investment banking business, assisting in selecting and recommending excellent high-tech and new energy projects.
There is very little publicly available information about Wang Gongquan's wife Yang Xuefeng. Feng Lun, Chairman of Wontong, wrote in "Barbaric Growth" that in the early 1990s, Wang Gongquan and Feng Lun started a business in Hainan, and at that time, Yang Xuefeng was in charge of Wontong's finances.
After Wang Gongquan announced his elopement on Weibo, there was no further news. Wang Qin's Weibo stopped updating after May 12th.
