"Then add a lot of sugar"...... That's how weight seems to creep up unnoticed.

The second picture looks like the urban-rural fringe...

Yeah, I've recently noticed that I've gained weight, and then rashly made the decision: no more communal meals. I'll cook my own food and eat it myself. This way, I can control my diet better. Then I can start playing ball right away, and by the time I go back home, I should have successfully transformed.

That company technician兼guide does look quite local in features. What brand of tea does your tea factory mainly produce?

It's a British tea brand, which is said to be sold in many countries around the world, but it doesn't seem to be available in China. However, the most popular one here still seems to be Lipton; their backing is Unilever after all....

Harry, a very special Arab classmate.

The first time I saw him, his appearance didn't seem very "Arab" at all. I guarantee that he tried hard... His straight hair replaced the usual shiny curls, making me think he looked like someone from an Asian country. As we got to know each other later, I found him more and more unique: he doesn’t smoke, doesn’t drink alcohol, and isn’t very talkative. He likes sitting quietly in a corner and listening to lectures (other Arabs make a lot of noise during class). Maybe because Chinese students are relatively disciplined, obedient, and hardworking, he gradually came to like us Chinese students.

Later on, through mutual influence, we became teachers for each other. We taught him Chinese, and he taught us French. The difference was that he started teaching from the alphabet, while we taught randomly. For example, when seeing a girl, you should say “beauty,” claiming it has good effects on cardiovascular diseases. When seeing me, call me “handsome guy.” There were also practical phrases like “kiss” and “diarrhea.” In this process of mutual teaching, we deeply felt the natural talent of Arabs in learning languages or, perhaps, our own clumsiness as Chinese learners of languages.

In one of my earlier blog posts, I posted a photo of him with a Chinese girl. Many people commented that he looked like Nadal, and his eyebrows were connected. I hadn't noticed that before, but after hearing the comments, I took another look and thought it made sense.

Tonight, being idle, a few of us Chinese classmates invited him to visit our dormitory and taste some Chinese food. While two other classmates were preparing stewed chicken and egg pancakes for dinner to welcome our international friend, I chatted casually with him while steaming rice. He said he has two sisters and two brothers, and his eldest brother now lives in Canada. Listening to Canon on my computer, he said he misses home, misses the bread and coffee his mom makes. When he closes his eyes, he sees the scene of his parents sending him off at the airport. Saying this, his eyes glistened with tears.

After dinner, he had to rush back to pray. On the way to send him home, he said he prays five times a day with indescribable devotion. Perhaps because of religion, his heart is so pure.

Harry is a good person!
