A large number of blogs produce these rumors every day, speculating on Google's future direction from undersea optical cables leading to Asia, to the gPhone, to new data centers, to virtual worlds. To generate more advertising revenue, Google may acquire more traditional media.

"They will enter the broadcasting industry in some aspects," claimed Rob Enderle, chief analyst of the Enderle Group in San Jose. If so, advertisers would prioritize giving their money to Google. "I'm not sure if they will acquire a broadcasting network," Enderle added, "but it is very likely." If they acquire some radio stations, Google would ambitiously shift their business towards an online push mode to expand their advertising formats. Finally, he said, Google would cooperate with traditional media to ensure their income.

"If successful, their ultimate goal is to become a stronger entity than the combination of Microsoft, IBM, and AT&T," Engerle said, "in fact, they have such a strategy."
