Huang Shengyi and Tong Dawei Star in a Heartrending Romance

When asked about unforgettable experiences while filming the TV series "Going South of Yangtze", Huang Shengyi still shuddered at the memory of the scorching heat in Zhongshan, Guangdong. Huang Shengyi revealed: "During filming, the local temperature often reached 40 degrees Celsius. When Tong Dawei and I were shooting emotional scenes, if the camera only filmed the upper body, we would wear suits on top and casual shorts below. At noon when it was too hot, the suit would be soaked after just a short while and had to be ironed dry before continuing to shoot." Huang Shengyi said, "I am very afraid of the heat. When not filming, I would keep fanning myself with a small fan on set. Without a fan, I felt like I was going to die from the heat. Unfortunately, for the sake of the drama, I had to persevere."

In the TV series "Going South of Yangtze", Huang Shengyi plays a character who ages from sixteen to over forty, a large age span. Huang Shengyi joked: "I'm not particularly worried about my acting because director Shen Haofang will ensure quality in the end. What I want to say is, please don't apply makeup that makes me look forty-something on my face, only for sweat to flow and make Tong Dawei and I appear young again."
