Although the official release date for Opera 10 has not been determined, Opera hopes that this upgraded version of the application will attract users of Microsoft's IE 7.

Opera 9 was launched on June 20th, and Opera stated its goal is to beat IE 7, which is set to launch by the end of this year.

Opera 10 will continue the cross-platform characteristics of version 9, allowing compatibility with multiple different platforms, which is a more obvious distinction from Microsoft. Opera 10 will support various devices: mobile platforms, desktop platforms, and gaming consoles.

In addition, Opera will continue to increase development of HTML and JavaScript-based Widget network applications that run outside the browser. They also plan to develop tools for developers, enabling them to use Opera as a web development platform and utilize open standards.

Opera revealed that on the first day of Opera 9's release, it was downloaded over 700,000 times. Since its launch in June, including the Mini version of Opera 9 for mobile platforms, the total number of downloads has reached approximately 25 million.
