AMD: The release of "Barcelona" may be a bit ahead of time.

Mario Rivas, Executive Vice President of AMD's Computing Products Group, revealed that after discovering a major defect in the Opteron and Phenom processors, AMD immediately halted shipments to the channel. In this regard, the treatment given to system manufacturers by AMD is exactly the same as for AMD's top-tier partners. "Unfortunately, some people outside have misunderstood that we do not value the channel, which is an incorrect view."

On December 10th, senior AMD officials admitted that the much-hyped Opteron and Phenom processors had defects, and it was indeed a foolish decision to release them prematurely. However, at that time, it was an unavoidable choice.
