Hasee Computers was one of the first domestic PC manufacturers to shift its focus towards notebook computers. Since launching the 5999 yuan notebook in 2003, it has promised to reduce the price of notebooks by a thousand yuan each year, and they have kept that promise. 2007 was the year when notebook computers made a full-scale push to replace desktops. Towards the end of the year, Hasee once again took the lead by releasing a 2999 yuan notebook. Chairman Wu Haijun even criticized Asus's EeePC product, which had caught industry attention, as a "toy." Why does Wu Haijun have such confidence?
