Ding Lei: Youdao will become China's top search engine within three years

Ding Lei, CEO of NetEase, expressed that he believed that Youdao was merely at the beginning stage in the search engine field. He was confident that Youdao could become the top Chinese search engine in China within the next three years, providing better search experiences for Chinese Internet users.

Ding Lei explained NetEase's considerations for entering the Chinese search market. According to him, when they started considering developing a search engine for the Chinese Internet 2.5 years ago, they found that the product technology platform was more advanced than they had imagined. In fact, at that time, many international and domestic companies were already ahead in the search field.
