Defendants Wang Yan and Tang Hai were sentenced to 1 year and 10 months imprisonment respectively and fined 40,000 yuan and 30,000 yuan respectively for selling infringing copies. This is also the first case of intellectual property rights of online games in China in 2007. According to the Public Security Bureau of Xuhui District, Shanghai, three other criminal suspects, Chen from Sichuan, Shi from Hubei, and Song from Jiangsu have been criminally arrested recently. Chen and others are suspected of stealing "Journey" server data by "hacker" means and selling them for profit.
