First QQ number theft case sentenced, legislation for virtual property urgently needed

The nation's first sensational case of Q Q number theft went to the preliminary trial recently. The Nanshan District Court of Shenzhen ruled that the Q Q number is not property in the sense of criminal law. As a result, Zeng and Yang, the two defendants, were sentenced to six months' criminal detention for infringing upon the freedom of communication instead of for stealing.
