The next generation of Internet Explorer is named IE8.

The naming convention of IE8 is not strange. Microsoft General Manager Dean Hachamovitch said that it inherited the consistent naming tradition and was more in line with Microsoft's strategic vision. He also revealed that some new feature information, including for the next generation browser, would be released soon.
