At the 2007 China Information Industry Economic Annual Conference held today, Han Jun, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Information Industry introduced China's intellectual property strategy and pointed out that effective cooperation among the government, enterprises, and industry associations is an effective approach to promote independent innovation. Han Jun believed that TD-SCDMA, Flash Union, and AVS are all successful cases of trilateral cooperation. When evaluating enterprises, Han Jun even referred to Huawei as the leading enterprise in independent innovation. "By March 2006, Huawei had applied for 11,000 patents domestically, and 1,765 PCT international and foreign patents," said Han Jun.
