According to the latest issued Analysis of Technical Competitiveness of Chinese Hi-tech Enterprises, since China joined the WTO in 2000, its patent applications have been increasing rapidly. The oversea application ratio is 5% (about 30% for Japan). From 1985 to 2006, companies like Legend, BOE, Huawei, TCL and Haier applied more patents. Media analysis shows that: the top three companies Lenovo, BOE and Huawei have more registration which indicates their intention to take technical advantages in the US market. On the other hand, there are also four companies without patent registration, which shows huge differences in international strategies among major enterprises in China.
