Decisive Battle at the Forbidden City's Summit: Sina Weibo Chat Feature Exposed

The Chinese Internet's Weibo + IM battle is about to break out, as the saying goes "the coming of a storm is heralded by a full building of wind."

This morning, a Sina Weibo user @USMBA accidentally discovered a chat window on the right side of their Weibo page:

"I just noticed that Sina Weibo has added an online display and video chat function. Look at the position on the right. Clicking on it will bring up a dialogue box where you can easily chat. This should be a blow to Tencent. In the past, people often complained about the inconvenience of conversations through private messages and had to switch to QQ or MSN. Now, that's no longer necessary."
