On December 4 at 14:30, the Lenovo Group announced that it would not renew its contract for the Olympic Games' Worldwide Top Partner Program. This vacancy is reportedly to be filled by their competitor Acer.
A Lenovo press spokesperson stated that the Turin Winter Olympics and the upcoming 2008 Beijing Olympics would effectively help Lenovo achieve its first-stage brand goals. In order to make Lenovo a globally recognized household name, future sports marketing efforts will focus on regional and strategic markets. Lenovo also plans to continue advancing its Olympic strategy over the next year or so.
