Microsoft considered that its next version of Silverlight Flash deserved the title of 2.0 instead of 1.1. On November 29, Scott Guthrie, General Manager of Microsoft's Development Department, wrote in his blog that Microsoft had decided to rename its next generation Silverlight product to version 2.0. Microsoft plans to release the beta version of the next generation of Silverlight in the first quarter of 2008, and users can obtain this beta version through a "Go Live" license, Guthrie added. (A Go-Live license allows users or developers to start deploying applications on products based on the beta version.)
