According to foreign media reports, the latest report released by Internet traffic monitoring organization Telegeography shows that in the past year, global Internet traffic has increased by 62%, and the fastest growth rate is in less mature regions such as Eastern Europe and India. Data from Telegeography shows that from mid-2008 to mid-2009, the increase in global Internet traffic was 74%, and from mid-2009 to mid-2010, Internet traffic grew by 62%. Telegeography pointed out in its report that the increase in Internet traffic in immature areas such as Eastern Europe and India exceeded 100% in the past year. Telegeography reported: "From mid-2009 to mid-2010, the fastest-growing region of international Internet traffic was Eastern Europe and India/South Asia, with an average growth rate exceeding 100%, while the growth rate in the Middle East also approached 100%. Even relatively mature markets maintained a fast growth rate, with international Internet traffic in Western Europe increasing by 66% and traffic in the United States and Canada increasing by 54%." The report from Telegeography shows that in the past year, global operators have added 13.2 Tbps of Internet capacity, but with the rapid growth of Internet traffic, these operators obviously need to continue expanding. From mid-2008 to mid-2009, global operator Internet capacity expanded by 9.4 Tbps, and from mid-2007 to mid-2008, it expanded by 6 Tbps. Telegeography pointed out in its report that the distribution of global Internet capacity is uneven, with mature markets far surpassing emerging markets like Africa, but this situation will change soon because optical cable installations are ongoing in underdeveloped Internet regions. Telegeography pointed out that the three factors of increased Internet capacity in immature regions, the development of mobile Internet, and the popularization of low-cost smartphones will alter the trajectory of Internet development, and the development of mobile social networks in India reveals some signs. Telegeography wrote in its report: "The latest research report from Analysys Mason shows that by 2014, the number of users of mobile social networks in India could grow to 72 million, mainly benefiting from the decline in smartphone prices and the promotion of 3G services. As India gradually develops into the world's seventh-largest market, by July 2010, the number of social network users in India had grown to about 33 million, increasing by 43%. The report points out that the growth of social network users is driving the growth of mobile social network users. In 2009, the number of users of mobile social networks in India was 10 million, accounting for 2.2% of the total number of mobile users."
