ZOL Software Division News: 360 has launched a Privacy Protector, directly targeting the major controversy caused by Tencent QQ's "peeping on user privacy". After a holiday break, the conflict has been escalated again. On October 11, 360 announced an upgrade to its Privacy Protector and released a "User Privacy Protection White Paper", disclosing the working principles of all its software products to users.

In response, Tencent quickly reacted by issuing a solemn statement titled "Serious Statement Regarding the Slander of Tencent QQ 'Peeping on User Privacy'" on the evening of the 11th, accusing "a certain company" of launching a privacy protector that slandered QQ, misleading and frightening QQ users.

In its "User Privacy Protection White Paper", 360 pointed out that the purpose of writing the white paper is to allow users to fully understand the working principles and operational behaviors of all 360 software, as users' trust in software is entirely based on transparency.
