More than a month ago, I wrote an article titled "Online Stores and Shopping Malls Should Emphasize Database Marketing," which mainly introduced and shared how to implement database marketing. After the article was published, many friends thought that this method was only suitable for large companies, and once it came to small companies, such as online stores, they didn't know how to implement it. In fact, database marketing can be applied in grand ways for large companies and in clever smaller ways for small businesses. It’s quite simple for small units like online stores to implement. Today, I will share three cases of database marketing with you, explaining its application from different angles, hoping it will be helpful to everyone.

1. The Example of Selling Game Coins

Let me start with one of my own cases. Back in 2004, I was involved in the business of selling game coins — the so-called online game merchant. At the time, I was a middleman, buying from coin-farming studios on one hand and selling to players on the other. The game I dealt with was called "Lineage II," which was distributed by Sina. Without being modest, I was probably the most well-known merchant in that game at the time. Most people who played the game, especially those who traded game coins, knew me. And in terms of income, I was likely one of the highest earners among my peers. On some days, I could make more than 2,000 yuan in profit (note: pure profit). Behind this success, database marketing played a significant role.
