Paul Francis discovered, through research (via Facebook's internal search, limiting by country and gender to obtain data), that approximately two-thirds of Facebook members are female.

The statistics cover 42,966,780 users from the top 31 countries with the most registered users. The United States has the highest number of users (over 18 million), followed by the United Kingdom (6.8 million), Canada (6.7 million), Australia (1.9 million), and Turkey (1.6 million). Among these, 40% of U.S. users are male, while 72% of Chinese users are female.
