Due to Vodafone's moves in the court, T-Mobile, which operates the iPhone business in Germany, has to adjust its sales strategy.
T-Mobile claims that they can sell Apple's unlocked version of the iPhone, but the price will be as high as 999 euros (1481 US dollars, 720 pounds)... Currently, the contract version of the iPhone sold by T-Mobile is priced at 399 euros, and the price of the unlocked version is more than two and a half times higher, which is equivalent to purchasing nearly two years' worth of minimum contract usage amounts. This is clearly a move by T-Mobile to circumvent regulations (the pricing of 999 euros also reveals T-Mobile's resentment...), but how many people would buy this exorbitantly priced phone remains unknown.
Apple has not released any new updates for now; features such as 3G, GPS, A2DP, etc., are still not to be expected. However, there have been recent rumors that the 3G version of the iPhone will be launched in May next year.
