On the third morning, we first took a walk around the seaside, had breakfast and returned to the hotel to pack our things. We were moving to Yalong Bay. Ctrip provides free transportation from Dadonghai to Yalong Bay, so we just waited in the Silverlit hotel lobby.
If you visit Sanya, you must go to Yalong Bay to see the sea. The seawater there is really beautiful. There’s also a public beach area, but it's chargeable. So, it’s better to stay there as hotels all have private beaches. Seeing the scenery there made us want to lazily lie on the beach, bask in the sun, swim, and time seemed to slip away from us. Everything slowed down, and we truly experienced the meaning of vacationing.
The facilities at the hotels there are really good. The hotels are built along the bay, some with front-line sea views and others with second-line sea views. Front-line sea view hotels are built right by the sea, so their sea-view rooms are top-notch, though prices aren't cheap. For example, Hilton, Jinmao, and Redwoods. However, the facilities at Redwoods are slightly older than the other two. Second-line sea view hotels are a bit further from the beach, but still quite close—just cross the road. Booking a sea-view room doesn’t make much sense for these hotels, but they offer better value for money, such as Golden Palm, Tianyu, and Xianrenzhang. Xianrenzhang is the furthest from the beach, but it's still convenient. You can take an electric cart (which runs frequently) along the hotel swimming pool, then cross the road, and it only takes about 7-8 minutes to get to the beach.Inn
However, it seems that Golden Palm no longer includes breakfast now, which makes it a bit inconvenient. Therefore, I suggest booking a hotel that offers complimentary breakfast, so you don’t need to eat lunch after having a hearty breakfast. Also, Yalong Bay is located in the suburbs of Sanya, and there are no breakfast stalls nearby, so the only option is to eat the hotel buffet.
On the way back to the city center, I heard someone on the bus mention a hotel called Aegean Sea Hotel. The rooms there have kitchens and washing machines, similar to serviced apartments, which sounds pretty good. I might try it next time. Just note that opposite the hotel is the Underwater World, where many tour buses stop, and there are minibuses going to scenic spots. So, if you stay there, avoid rooms facing the road.
To get from Yalong Bay to the city center, you can take Ctrip shuttle buses or hotel-provided transport, or minibuses. Ctrip’s bus must be booked through Ctrip to ride. Ctrip’s bus goes directly to Mingzhu Plaza. Go through Mingzhu Plaza, and behind it is Chunyuan. Near Mingzhu Plaza, there is a Second Market, but it’s much smaller and doesn’t sell seafood, so if you want to buy seafood, go to the First Market.
To get to the scenic spots, you can take the Xin Guoxian bus, which passes through famous Sanya attractions, with buses every 15 minutes.
