The 21st Golden Melody Awards was held in Taipei Arena the other night. The eponymous album by Chang Hui-mei under her indigenous name "Amit" won five major awards including Best Mandarin Album and Song of the Year. She also won the Best Mandarin Female Singer with an overwhelming number of votes. Chang was moved to tears when she received the award, saying that after waiting for eight years to be crowned again, she felt that "it is right to insist, it is right to change, and it is right to love singing."
