2160 yuan Star Factory takes you to leave beautiful memories in the ancient town

Qingyan Ancient Town is located in the southern suburbs of Guiyang City, about 29 kilometers from the urban area. It is one of the most famous cultural ancient towns in Guizhou Province. Tourists will immediately feel the ancient charm when they come here.

Qingyan Ancient Town has a long history, since the establishment of Qingyan Fortress in the 11th year of Hongwu in Ming Dynasty (1378 AD), it has been more than 600 years so far. In the early Ming Dynasty, the central dynasty established the Guizhou Guard Command Department in the 6th year of Hongwu (1373 AD) to control the southwestern frontier and control the post roads of Sichuan, Yunnan, Hunan, and Guangxi. Since Qingyan was located at the main post road between Guiyang and Panfeng (today's Huishui County), the "Pu" which delivered official documents and the "Tang" which delivered military intelligence were set up on the post road. The army built a garrison under the Double Lion Peak beside the post road, historically known as "Qingyan Garrison". In the 14th year of Hongwu (1381 AD), Zhu Yuanzhang sent an army of 300,000 to Yunnan and Guizhou. After a large number of troops entered the central Guizhou and settled down, the "Garrison" gradually developed into a village where civilians and soldiers lived together, and "Qingyan Garrison" evolved into "Qingyan Fortress". From the fourth to the seventh year of Tianqi (1624-1627 AD), Ban LinGui, who led the Qingyan land defense force and controlled the 72 villages and the Eight Barbarians and Twelve Offices, built a mud city about 1 kilometer away from Qingyan Fortress at the "Four Zhiba" slope (place name). People at that time called it "Wangcheng", which means "Soldier City" or "Camp" in Chinese. This is the prototype of today's Qingyan City. The mud city was high and dangerous, and the original villagers inside the old Qingyan Fortress moved into the mud city to avoid war disasters, making the mud city gradually take shape and become a key crossroads leading south to Dingfan (today's Huishui), north to Guiyang, west to Pingba (county), and east to Longli (county). After hundreds of years of historical vicissitudes and multiple renovations and expansions, it evolved from a mud city to a stone wall city and stone paved streets. Today, Qingyan City has become a cultural ancient town in the style of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. As a historical and cultural ancient town in Guizhou Province, Qingyan has more than a hundred cultural relics sites, of which 23 have been included in > - Guizhou Section. Beneath the timeless Lion Mountain, ancient town attractions can be seen everywhere. The interwoven and densely distributed ancient buildings of the Ming and Qing Dynasties include nine temples, eight temples, five pavilions, three caves, two ancestral halls, one palace, one academy, etc., totaling 37 places, among which there are 8 stone archways, and currently 3 remain. These ancient buildings are all exquisite works with ingenious designs and exquisite craftsmanship. For example, the stone carvings of Ciyun Temple and the wood carvings of Shoufo Temple are rare masterpieces in Guiyang. All temples and pavilions are decorated with painted beams and flying eaves, even though they are old and neglected, most of them still retain their charm.

The layout of the Qingyan town follows the Ming and Qing patterns, and the well-preserved gateways, waist gates, and old stone and wooden counters always give people a sense of ancient charm. The newly built ancient town commercial street further promotes the ancient town's heritage and flavor.

Standing on the restored Diguang Gate wall, the ruins of the ancient city wall are still faintly visible, evoking the past grandeur of the ancient town as a military stronghold. Facing the uniquely designed descending lion on the "Zhao Lilun Hundred-Year Archway," which was praised by Master Hai粟 as "rare indeed," as well as the cultural deposits contained in the other two stone archways, one can savor part of the ancient town's culture. Stepping into the residence of Zhao Yijiong, the first top imperial examinee in Guizhou's history, the former residence of Mr. Ping Gang, the secretary general of the Marshal's Office of Sun Yat-sen, the site of the shocking "Qingyan Case" both domestically and internationally, and the former residences of relatives of the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries such as Zhou Enlai, Deng Yingchao, and Li Kenong, one cannot help but marvel at the rich cultural landscape of this small town.

Qingyan also has its own famous local specialties near and far. Rose sugar (originally named "Ma Pian Tang") is sweet and delicious, and it was first produced by the Ping Zhengkuan family in 1874 and has been passed down as a century-old brand. Qingyan Double Flower Vinegar is also over a hundred years old and remains popular. Its vinegar is thick enough to hold in a bowl, black with a reddish hue like soy sauce, moderately sour, with a lingering fragrant aftertaste and slightly sweet, much favored by "Old Guiyang" residents.
