Must-see for novice ladies
01 Primer
Primer helps foundation adhere more closely to the skin. Using it before makeup smooths and refines the skin's surface, making the foundation last longer without smudging, and also isolates cosmetics, providing a certain level of protection for the skin. Regardless of your age group, it's best to use some primer before applying makeup. If conditions don't allow, you can use a moisturizing cream.
A pea-sized amount is enough for the entire face. Apply thinly for an effect that won't feel too heavy.
Start from the center just below the cheekbones and gradually extend outward, dotting the primer in four places.
Begin from larger areas of the skin and gently spread towards the corners of the eyes and other detailed areas. Finally, lightly pat with fingertips to help absorb the lotion. Areas prone to pigmentation, like the corners of the eyes and nostrils, should be processed again.
Functions of Primer:
Forms a protective barrier between the skin and makeup
Provides sun protection and isolates dirty air
Adjusts skin tone
Anti-radiation
Primers generally come in several colors:
WhiteCovers freckles and has a highlighting effect.
YellowHides brown circles under the eyes and dark red areas, making the skin tone brighter.
GreenCorrects reddish skin tones and calms the complexion naturally.
BlueEnhances the transparency of the skin tone.
PinkMakes pale, bloodless skin appear rosy.
PurpleFor those who cannot use yellow-based concealers, purple can solve dull complexion issues.
OrangeRecommended for those troubled by bluish dark circles under the eyes.
02 FoundationGood foundation can "relay" skincare benefits
Dust, pollution, wind, sand, dry air conditioning environments... delicate skin endures harsh conditions throughout the day. A thin layer of moisturizer is hard to last for hours, keeping the skin hydrated continuously. Good foundation can "relay" skincare benefits, completing the process thoroughly. Before this, you might have concerns about using foundation, such as whether it will clog pores, create an oily feeling, unnatural color, or harm the skin. However, advanced technology ensures that high-quality foundations eliminate all these worries. They are breathable, non-greasy, do not clog pores, and help protect against external pollution (blocking dust), keeping the skin hydrated for long periods while maintaining a natural color matching the skin tone. After application, it gives a fine and light texture.
Place a pea-sized amount on the back of your hand, thin it out, and then apply.
Apply from the cheekbones toward the cheeks. Follow the facial contour for the chin area.
Evenly push the foundation from the cheekbones toward the nose bridge, upper lip, and lower lip.
To highlight the three-dimensional effect of the face, reapply foundation between the eyebrows. Spread the foundation radiantly across the forehead toward the hairline to prevent smudging.
After applying foundation, use some loose powder for setting. Dip an appropriate amount of powder, rub it lightly with both hands into the powder puff so that the powder penetrates the fibers.
Similar to applying foundation, start setting powder from larger areas of the skin. Some powder may get into the creases around the eyes, which can be blended with fingertips. Neglecting this could make fine lines more noticeable.
Recommendation: TFS plant-based foundation, pure natural formula, easy to use and blend seamlessly
03 ConcealerProper use of concealer creates perfect makeup effects
Even the finest facial skin usually has some imperfections, especially when daily skincare is insufficient, and annoying pimples, red spots, fine lines, and dark circles become apparent. Concealers can be effective in such cases. However, to achieve flawless concealing results, professional makeup skills and suitable concealer products are essential; otherwise, the effort may backfire.
Many people apply a thick layer of concealer due to fear of inadequate coverage, making the makeup look more conspicuous. In fact, concealers differ from foundations in their higher density, so applying a thin layer is sufficient and should be smoothed out carefully with fingers.
Different skin symptoms require different application methods: Do not directly apply concealer on dark circles or eye bags, as it may worsen the appearance. Instead, apply it on the edges of the eye circle and bags, gently blending it to match the surrounding skin tones. For pimples, acne, or red spots, direct application is fine, but remember, a small amount is enough.

04 Powder Cake & Loose Powder
For dry-skinned ladies, powder cakes are recommended, whereas loose powder is better for oilier skin types, offering a more natural, breathable finish.
Powder cakes and loose powders are great for touch-ups and oil control. Dual-use wet/dry powder cakes are recommended for those who prefer convenience. These combine foundation-like coverage with matte powder effects, being both delicate and easy to use, suitable for quick makeup routines. It's advisable to have two powder puffs—one for wet application and another for dry application—to enhance the respective effects.
The powder amount on about half a sponge is roughly enough for half the face. Use the sponge to dab and spread the powder evenly across one cheek first. Repeat similarly for the other side.
Next, use the sponge to spread from the center of the forehead outward. After covering the forehead, slide the sponge down to the nose bridge and gently move up and down to cover the entire nose area. Carefully cover the sides of the nostrils as well.
Don't forget the jawline. Gently spread from the front of the ear toward the chin. To create a beautiful profile, check the boundary line between the neck and face in the mirror, ensuring it blends seamlessly.
Carefully cover the area below the nose. Lightly press the sponge around the eyes and lips for even application. The area around the eyes is often overlooked; neglecting it can make the eyes appear dull.
Highly recommend DODO powder! Everyone praises it after trying!
05 Eyeliner
Applying eyeliner enhances and emphasizes the eyes while also modifying their shape through technique. Eyeliner adjusts eye contours and spacing, intensifies the gaze, and contrasts the white and black parts of the eye. For example, if the center of the eyeliner is made thicker, it shortens the perceived length of the eye, making it appear larger. Extending the eyeliner at the outer corner creates a narrow, elongated effect. This is the trick to making small eyes look bigger and large eyes smaller. Eyeliners can also express personality; for instance, emphasizing the lower eyeliner makes the eyes appear youthful and lively, while focusing on the upper eyeliner elevates the eyes, giving a mature and steady look.
Start from the inner corner and work outward. Fill gaps bit by bit to form a perfect line.
Slightly open your eyes to determine the angle at the tail. Many ladies prefer a slightly upward tilt, making the eyes appear larger and spirited. However, this year's trend favors a lazy aristocratic vibe, so no upward tilt is applied at the tail.
Finally, adjust with a cotton swab from the inner to the outer corner for careful refinement.
For beginners, recommend Angelina eyeliner pencil or HENGFANG liquid eyeliner, both easy to use and very natural.
