Quenching Furnace - Quenching Heating Protection and Heating Methods
Method for quenching heating protection of small forging dies: The quenching heating protection of small forging dies uses various anti-decarburization and anti-oxidation protective coatings. It can also use carburizing agents, charcoal, cast iron chips, and neutral medium packaging protection methods. For heating below 900°C, open-mouth packaging heating is generally adopted; for heating above 1000°C, it is advisable to use the method of hollow bag loading for protective heating. When using hollow bag protection heating, attention should be paid to: before each use, check whether the iron bag leaks gas; the amount of protective agent loaded should be appropriate, excessive carburizing medium will cause severe carburization on the surface of the forging die. If conditions permit, it is recommended to use nitrogen-based protective atmosphere for protective heating.
Quenching heating method for small forging dies: Inlay block forging dies and small forging dies generally adopt the method of loading the furnace when reaching temperature. For complex-shaped forging dies, the loading temperature should be appropriately reduced. For thick and large integral molds, in order to avoid generating excessive thermal stress, it is preferable to load at a low temperature, preheat at 600 to 650°C, and then increase the heating temperature at a speed of less than 80°C/h. For forging dies with quenching heating temperatures above 1000°C, they should be preheated at 800 to 850°C.
