Michael Finley to Boston: The Celtics Are Becoming the Patriots

It was one thing when the Celtics signed Rasheed Wallace this offseason. That was at least a reasonable gamble. Now they’re looking to Michael Finley to shore up the backcourt, and it's becoming painfully obvious. Much like Kevin Garnett is the new Curt Schilling, let's call it right now: the Celtics are the New England Patriots of the NBA.

And unless you’re a washed-up veteran looking for a quick million bucks, that’s not a good thing. From Yahoo! Sports’ Marc Spears: Cs considering idea of trying to sign Finley, but offer has not been made. Veteran swingman shooter would be a solid addition. A solid addition, eh?

Does this make Finley the NBA’s Fred Taylor, or the NBA’s Junior Seau? And would Antoine Walker be Drew Bledsoe, then? Walter McCarty: He was Larry Izzo, right? It all makes sense now, and yet… So many questions!
