The major project of Heilongjiang Province Scientific and Technological Research Plan, "Advanced Treatment and Resource Utilization of Oilfield Oily Wastewater", jointly undertaken by Daqing Oilfield Co., Ltd., Harbin Institute of Technology, and Daqing Petroleum College, has recently passed the expert appraisal organized by the Science and Technology Department of Heilongjiang Province.
Currently, in Daqing's oil production, about 266,000 tons/day of oily wastewater are generated from processes such as water flooding of low-permeability and ultra-low permeability oil layers and tertiary composite flooding. This project takes the oily wastewater produced during the development of ultra-low permeability oil layers in Daqing Oilfield and the application of tertiary oil recovery technology (polymer flooding and tertiary composite flooding) as the research object, with the goal of achieving water quality control technology indicators required for oilfield development. Starting from the related mechanism research on the water quality characteristics of the produced water, the project studies suitable treatment equipment and process technologies for treating produced water from ultra-low permeability oil layers and tertiary composite flooding, meeting the corresponding reinjection water quality control index requirements. It also develops efficient treatment agents (flocculants and demulsifiers) for treating produced liquid and produced water, realizing the full reinjection of produced sewage and its resource utilization, providing reliable technical guarantees for the effective development of ultra-low permeability oilfields in the periphery of Daqing and the promotion and application of tertiary composite flooding technology. Currently, using the research results of this project, a pilot station for treating produced water from ultra-low permeability oil layers with a capacity of 5,000 m³/day has been built, and a new pilot station for treating tertiary composite flooding produced water with a capacity of 3,600 m³/day has also been constructed.
Experts on the appraisal committee unanimously believe that the overall level of this research achievement has reached the international leading level, having profound and significant implications for the late-stage high-water-content development and sustainable development of Daqing Oilfield.
