**T-shirt Fabric Selection**

Commonly used fabrics for making T-shirts and casual wear include: pure cotton, polyester-cotton, Lycra, polyester, nylon, etc.

1. **Pure Cotton**: A commonly used fabric. Cotton itself has several varieties, with combed cotton being one of the better options. Advantages include good moisture absorption and environmental friendliness, while the disadvantage is its tendency to deform and wrinkle easily. General characteristics of pure cotton fabric: good texture, comfortable and eco-friendly when worn, with a weight typically ranging from 160 grams to 280 grams. Too thin will make it see-through, too thick will make it feel stifling. It's best to choose between 180-240 grams. Common thread counts are 21 and sometimes 32. Thread count refers to the thickness of the cotton fiber yarn, higher counts mean softer fabric. Cotton yarn can be divided into regular yarn and combed yarn. Regular yarn fabrics tend to be slightly coarser on the surface, while combed yarn fabrics have a cleaner surface and a softer feel.

2. **Polyester-Cotton**: This is a blend of cotton and polyester, commonly used, with a typical ratio of 65% cotton and 35% polyester. It overcomes the disadvantages of pure cotton being prone to wrinkles and deformation while maintaining excellent moisture absorption, even better than pure cotton, but with slightly less comfort when worn.

3. **Nylon-Cotton**: A blend of cotton and nylon that retains all the advantages of cotton, with added elasticity and a silk-like feel, making it comfortable to wear.

4. **Lycra-Cotton**: A blend of cotton and Lycra, this elastic fabric is generally more form-fitting, accentuating the figure without feeling constricting due to its elasticity.

Supplementary Note: During warmer autumn days, thinner cotton fabrics can still be worn, but for colder weather, thicker pure cotton clothing is preferred because thinner cotton fabrics tend to be more suitable for warmer conditions. Wearing pure polyester during cold weather can cause static electricity, which can be annoying, so pure cotton is the better choice for colder weather. Polyester-cotton blends often differentiate between outer fabric and lining material, with polyester linings more prone to static electricity.

5. **Modal**: A new type of environmentally friendly material, less common but with superior water absorption and sweat-wicking properties compared to cotton. However, it tends to deform easily, so currently, it is rarely used alone. Mixing it with polyester or Lycra can improve its performance significantly.

6. **100% Polyester**: Ideal for sports wear, commonly used by brands like ADIDAS and NIKE. This functional fabric allows sweat to evaporate quickly, avoiding the heavy feeling associated with sweating in pure cotton. It’s perfect for athletes who prefer polyester over cotton for sports activities.
