Today, when I opened Baidu News, I was suddenly shocked: China's top anti-virus expert, Wang Jiangmin, has passed away! This sad news has caused a great stir in the IT industry. The legendary figure of Zhongguancun has fallen! Moreover, it is around the Qingming Festival, which adds even more sorrow. Although many companies in the same industry have sent condolences, the competition in China's anti-virus field will not stop. As the saying goes, some are happy while others are worried.
Wang Jiangmin, a genius in China's software industry and the chairman of Beijing Jiangmin New Technology Co., Ltd. (referred to as Jiangmin Technology), suddenly suffered from a heart attack and passed away at 9:20 AM on April 4th in Beijing.
It is understood that the 59-year-old Wang Jiangmin suffered from a sudden heart attack while fishing at the Beijing Xixi Xinxiang Fish Pool, with no prior symptoms.
Wang Jiangmin is regarded as a legendary figure in the industry. He was born in Shanghai in 1951 and had a disabled leg due to polio at the age of three. After graduating from junior high school, Wang Jiangmin started working as an apprentice in a street factory in his hometown of Yantai, Shandong. Before he turned 38, he didn't know what a computer was, but in 1996, he took a yellow minivan to Zhongguancun, Beijing, and founded one of China's earliest anti-virus software companies - Jiangmin Technology. He holds over 20 patents in mechanical and optoelectronic categories.
In 2003, Wang Jiangmin made it to the "Top 50 Rich List in Chinese IT" thanks to his KV series of anti-virus software.
"In China's anti-virus field, everyone respectfully calls him Teacher Wang. As a senior figure in China's information security field and one of the first anti-virus experts in China, Teacher Wang Jiangmin has made outstanding contributions to China's information security field." Beijing Kingsoft Security Software Co., Ltd. mourned "Teacher Wang" with a completely black homepage.
