In terms of shopping, some mall service personnel chat idly when no consumers are buying; some shop assistants lack initiative, and when asked about the product situation, some lack patience, while others answer questions while tidying up other products with a cold attitude; some malls do not clearly mark the prices of some goods, especially for special sale items where price tags do not indicate origin, specifications, etc., and there are even cases where defective goods are put on shelves for sale, ignoring consumer doubts.
In January this year, the Shanghai Tourism Administration and the Municipal Consumer Protection Committee launched a tourism consumption experience activity, selecting 88 tourism consumption volunteers to conduct consumption experience activities along 40 routes targeting six aspects of Shanghai's catering, accommodation, transportation, shopping, sightseeing, and entertainment.
The Shanghai Green Tourism Experience Report shows that the main problems still exist in the tourism consumption environment. Some catering enterprises do not clearly display their charge items and do not actively provide invoices after meals; some catering enterprises within scenic spots reduce service quality due to large customer flow, such as worn-out menus, greasy floors, stiff answers from waiters to customer questions, or even arguments with customers; some high-star hotels and small inns do not clearly display check-in and check-out times in conspicuous places; there are wires passing through the corridors of small inns, posing safety hazards; transportation hardware facilities need improvement, such as some larger subway stations lacking public toilets; transportation services are not standardized, such as drivers talking in the carriage while driving, taxi drivers using mobile phones during the drive, Longyan Guanzhai Mountain Forest Villa; the phenomenon of "illegal taxis" still exists at long-distance bus and railway passenger transport centers, and even some drivers of formal taxi companies refuse passengers and arbitrarily set prices; important attractions or bends within scenic spots have unclear signs, and areas with potential safety hazards lack warning signs; some attraction introduction boards have faded characters, and some have misspelled words, near universities in Shanghai; some small travel agencies do not sign contracts with tourists, do not provide official invoices, guides arbitrarily change itineraries, and lack standard service, Shanghai Jingyue 99 Inn (Jiangzhen Store), and lack business knowledge.
Today, the Shanghai Tourism Administration and the Municipal Consumer Protection Committee jointly released a tourism consumption environment experience report to help relevant departments rectify the tourism environment, urge related enterprises to improve and enhance service quality, promote the creation of a good tourism consumption environment, and welcome the arrival of the World Expo.
