The opening of the Wuhan-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway has greatly boosted tourism, making travel more convenient for residents of Hong Kong and Guangdong. With the opening of the Wuhan-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway, the ground transportation time between Wuhan and Guangzhou, two major cities separated by thousands of miles but with deep historical ties, has been shortened from over 10 hours to less than 4 hours, greatly facilitating exchanges between the two places, along the line urban and rural areas, as well as Hong Kong and Macao tourists. The opening of the Wuhan-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway has also greatly promoted the tourism industry in Central South China and the Hong Kong-Macao region, making travel much more enjoyable for residents of Hong Kong and Guangdong.
The excellent Chinese tourism city of Shaoguan, which owns the World Natural Heritage nomination site (to be decided in July this year) Danxia Mountain in Guangdong, has benefited significantly from the opening of the Wuhan-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway. Since the beginning of this year, travel agencies from the Pearl River Delta, Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Hunan, Hubei, and other places have launched projects titled "Take the Wuhan-Guangzhou High-Speed Railway to Explore the Magical Danxia," which have been extremely popular in the market, resulting in a significant increase in group tourists. Statistical data shows that during this year's Spring Festival alone, Danxia Mountain in Guangdong received 585 tourist groups, an increase of 31% compared to last year, with high-speed rail groups accounting for half of them. Especially, the number of overseas tourists from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan increased by as much as 380%. A tourist surnamed Wang from Hong Kong once told reporters: "We not only experienced the fastest train in the world but also saw the poetic and picturesque scenery of Danxia Mountain. This Spring Festival was truly unforgettable!"
