Analysis of Alexa rankings for blog search websites on July 12, 2006

Overall, apart from Bola standing out alone, the Alexa rankings of other blog search websites have all dropped or stagnated. Among many websites, the characteristic celebrity blog site (http://www.starlogs.com) has risen in ranking by leveraging on celebrity fame. In this issue's blog rankings, souyo (http://www.souyo.com) did not show much change and its ranking even dropped somewhat, which is indeed disappointing. As for blog119 (http://www.blog119.net), its ranking fell sharply from a few thousand in the past few months to 401317 in this issue, a surprising rate of decline. The Chinese blog sites that were heavily promoted before still have not stopped maintenance, with uncertain prospects. Especially the older blog search websites like Baifang Feedsearch have become less useful, to the point where even the Baifang homepage cannot be opened, and its ranking has dropped drastically to 4356776. Bosou, backed by Blog Network, can be said to be unsuccessful; despite such strong backing, very few people use it. The only highlight of this issue is that Sina has launched its own blog search.
