Bill Gates won by a landslide in a poll initiated by the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), being recognized as the most influential leader in the IT industry over the past 25 years in the public's mind.
Bill Gates received support from 84% of the 473 participants, while Steve Jobs of Apple garnered 73% of the supporting votes, and Michael Dell came in third with a support rate of 53%. As for the two founders of Google and Linus Torvalds, they followed behind with the same percentage of support (47%).
