According to foreign media reports, one problem that the engineers of search giant Google are working hard to solve is that some photos on the company's Google News site are incorrectly matched with news articles. In a search on Google News last Friday, pictures returned from Reuters sometimes did not match the content of the news, instead showing content from the next news report; for example, a report on a Japanese company merger appeared alongside a photo of a bundle of vegetables. In the top business news stories on Google News, another mismatch occurred: a Wall Street Journal report on Sprint Nextel considering changes to its wireless internet service plan was paired with a photo from Reuters of a guitar player.
