The shirt is a garment worn between the inner and outerwear, and can also be worn alone.
Shirts existed in China as early as the Zhou Dynasty, known as "zhong yi" (middle garment), later renamed as "zhong dan". During the Han Dynasty, shirts close to the body were referred to as "ce chu". In the Song Dynasty, the term "shirt" was already in use. It is now commonly referred to as a Chinese-style shirt.
