Security experts provoked Linus to lose his temper, fiercely defending LSM

Linus Torvalds recently launched a strong attack against security researchers who opposed the inclusion of the Smack program into the 2.6.24 Linux kernel. He stated that these security researchers were too fixated on theoretically possible issues that, in reality, would not occur.

Smack uses Linux Security Modules, and the security researchers argued that this could potentially aid attackers in launching attacks on Linux. They suggested that Linux should adopt Security-Enhanced Linux to enhance its security.

This made Linus very angry because these security researchers were constantly demanding endless security measures of all kinds.
