People who follow WiiWare might have noticed that recently, quite a few classic games from years ago have been remastered and re-released on the Wii, such as the recently announced remake of *Rad Racer* by Nintendo. Now, another game from the FC era that once left a deep impression on us may be making a comeback.

From the screenshots above, you’ve probably already guessed it—yes, it’s *Gradius*. In 1986, this game shone brightly on arcade machines and was subsequently ported to almost all types of home consoles and PCs available at the time. Unfortunately, the game's brilliance was relatively short-lived, and it ultimately didn't become one of Konami's flagship titles like *Contra* or *Castlevania*.

In fact, these screenshots come from a game studio called Deep Fried Entertainment. However, they haven’t confirmed that this is *Jackal*; they've only revealed that it’s an "unnamed project" being developed for Nintendo Wii. So, there's a possibility that it might remain in the prototype stage. But if it does get officially released, repairing the NDSL, it would certainly be interesting.

Speaking of which, *Contra*, *Gradius*, and *Castlevania* have already been remade one after another. A high-definition version of *Jackal* would also be a good choice for Konami.
